Mattresses
Common types include foam, latex, innerspring, hybrid and adjustable. Compare support in your sleeping position, temperature control, motion transfer, edge, weight, required base, trial and return policy. Firm does not automatically mean more suitable.
Sofas
Measure seat height and depth, lumbar support, arm height, cushion density, frame, suspension, fabric, cleaning and disassembly. Deep seating suits lounging but may poorly support a smaller person or conversation.
Television
Size for distance and content, but place mainly so the screen centre does not force neck extension. Avoid reflections and provide ventilation, cable management, outlet access and mounting suited to the wall and weight.
Circulation
Maintain continuous paths and access to windows, exits, thermostats and devices. Test with floor tape before buying. Allow recliners, drawers, doors and storage to open without moving all furniture.
Adaptable ergonomics
Prefer adjustable elements, replaceable cushions, correctly sized tables, reading lights and stable surfaces. For persistent pain or functional limitation, seek a professional assessment rather than buying solely on a marketing promise.
