Legacy fluorescent ballasts and PCBs

Before removing older fluorescent fixtures, identify ballasts that may contain PCBs and use the regulated waste route.

Old ballast leaking/damaged
Do not handle as ordinary waste; isolate and obtain proper guidance. Pre-1980 ballast not identified
Check manufacturer/date/label before disposal. Bulk fixture removal
Plan compliant segregation, storage and transport before work. Ballasts clearly non-PCB
Keep label/evidence in deconstruction record.
